Five for Friday

Well, I may be 2 days late, but I can't pass up "Five for Friday". I love sharing what I've been up to throughout the week, both at school and at home! Here we go!

Since Thanksgiving is almost here, we've been talking about how things were different then than they are now. The students are always so fascinated at how things have changed over time! Here is an example of the t-chart activity from my "Then and Now" unit. After reading about the different ways things were different, each group of students was given a t-chart with a certain topic. They had to draw and write a sentence of how things have change over time. Here is one on transportation.

If you are still in school next week for a few days before Thanksgiving, this is a fun unit to do! Grab it in my TpT store HERE!

These next couple of ones count as 2 and 3 because I have so many to share! Since Christmas is right around the corner, I have been loading lots of fun things for Winter time! Some are even freebies! Just click on the picture to be taken it on TpT! They will make any classroom fun during the holiday season!

Target is coming out with their Christmas candy and this is BAD news for my waistline!! But oh so good in my belly!

I have off all next week and I can't wait to spend the week with family and these two fur balls!!

Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your full or half week off! Lord knows we all need it! :)

Then and Now Thanksgiving Unit

Well Dana from Scrappin' Doodles does it again! I contacted her with an idea for a fun Thanksgiving clip art set and she blew my expectations away! This unit wouldn't have been possible with her! So without further ado, here my newest unit!

This is a fun unit to teach right around Thanksgiving time. My kids always love it! They can't believe how the pilgrims used to live! Some of my favorite books to read that go along with my unit are the "If You Lived..." books.

Here are some of the activities included in the unit with many more as well!

I also just posted a fun freebie craftivity on TpT that is a must do for the Thanksgiving season!

What are your favorite Thanksgiving activities to teach?

November Currently and Freebie Hop

I know I'm a couple days late to the currently post, but I had to join in! And don't worry, I have some fun freebies for you since I'm so late in my post :)

Listening: Watching the remake of "The Parent Trap with Lindsey Lohan. Takes me back!

Loving: My family is just amazing! I have been bed rest for the past 2 days. My husband and I have been going through IVF and the embryo transfer was yesterday. Our little guy is getting all nestled in mommy's tummy! And no, we don't know if it's a boy, but we have decided it is :) They have come over every day to bring us dinner and hang out with me :) My sister even stopped by the gas station today on her way over to get me some candy because I was craving it so much! Cravings have to be a good thing right!? :)

Thinking: Life has been so many ups and downs the past year, but now I feel that things are starting to slow down and settle in.

Wanting: I have joined a little Facebook freebie hop with some of my favorite bloggers! Click on the picture below to be taken to my Facebook page where you can find the "Fall Freebie" tab and begin the hop!
Needing: We had our IVF embryo transfer yesterday and are praying this baby sticks! Check out more of our story at my personal blog, Man and Wife and Two Fur Babies. Is that baby just beautiful!?
