Veteran's Day FREEBIE

I know it's been awhile since I've checked in, but this little miss has been occupying LOTS of my time!

And when she doesn't like to take naps during the day, the poor little blog gets pushed to the back burner.

But I'm here while she's taking a short nap to let you know about a Veteran's Day freebie I have! It's a great activity for students to practice a little research and writing facts about some of the amazing symbols that we have in our history because of the veterans who fought for those freedoms!

And if you are looking for a great past and present unit, this is your unit! My students always LOVE hearing about how things were in the past. They can't believe there were no cell phones back then :)

Facebook Freebie hop

Hello wonderful friends! I hope your weekend has been amazing! I have been "iced" into my house since Thursday night. We have braved the roads once due to cabin fever and won'e be doing that again! School was cancelled on Friday and more than likely tomorrow as well. The temperatures are not going up and the ice ain't going no where!

For me, I absolutely love it! I can stay in my pajama's for days and make amazing products all day long! My husband on the other hand, not so much. Poor guy just can't sit still for very long.

Anyways, on to the point of my post!

Five for Friday

Well, I may be 2 days late, but I can't pass up "Five for Friday". I love sharing what I've been up to throughout the week, both at school and at home! Here we go!

Since Thanksgiving is almost here, we've been talking about how things were different then than they are now. The students are always so fascinated at how things have changed over time! Here is an example of the t-chart activity from my "Then and Now" unit. After reading about the different ways things were different, each group of students was given a t-chart with a certain topic. They had to draw and write a sentence of how things have change over time. Here is one on transportation.
