weight/mass and temperature lessons

I need HELP! I plan math for my team and I am stumped on a good lesson to teach weight/mass and and temperature. At our school all we do with these two concepts is being able to order and compare them.

Example: They will see a picture of an ice cube, soup, and juice. Which is the hottest? or put them in order from coldest to hottest.

They need to be one day lessons for both topics. This is a concept they have been exposed to before and do not need alot of time to go over, but I seriously am drawing a blank. Can anyone help me out?

Hallelujah

I don't know about you, but my class has been major CRAZY pants lately. My student teacher and I had to change up our behavior system on Friday and today is the first day of trying it, and so far so GOOD! My student teacher is teaching full time this week. It's amazing how much she has grown in her teaching. I'm not as nervous to the leave the classroom anymore :) So for a new fresh start on this nasty, wet Monday, here is a freebie for living or non living. We studied what living and non living things a few weeks ago. They colored these pictures and sorted them. They loved them!

groundhog day!

Oh today has been so much fun. We learned about the history behind Groundhog Day, read a book "Punxsutawney Phyllis"

about a girl groundhog who wanted to predict if spring was coming soon or not, wrote a letter to Phil letting him know if we wanted him to see his shadow or not (practicing writing in future tense),

and then we got to watch the live reveal of whether Phil saw his shadow or not on  http://www.visitpa.com/groundhog-day-live-stream

Check out our work and hop over to Hadar at Miss Kindergarten to grab the template for the adorable groundhogs on the top!! I made the letter template, but forgot to save it. Oops! Let me know if you would actually use it, and I'll make another one. Thanks for checking in today!

here is our letter template
