Ten Things I Want To Do This Summer

I am linking up with Deanna Jump from Mrs. Jump's Class to talk about what I want to do this summer! Summer is so close I can taste it and can't wait for it to be here!
1. I can't wait to finish up Reagan's nursery. This for sure is happening because this baby is coming whether we are ready or not come mid July! I am loving decorating her nursery. Here is a picture of her crib and her adorable monogram!
Now this picture isn't of her nursery, but we are doing an alphabet wall like this! I can't wait to finish it up!

2. I love getting my nails done in fun cool ways! Here are some of my ideas!

3. spending as much time with this guy as possible! We will soon be a family of 3 and I want to spend as much time as I can with him until then!

4. spend time with my sister! She is also a teacher and I love that we both have summers off to get our sister time in!

5. actually scratch that. I am looking forward to spending time with my sister AND mom! Our mom is a teacher too! We love our summers together :)

6. With being pregnant it's hard to get workouts in since I literally get winded walking to the bathroom every 5 minutes. So I am wanting to continue walking the dogs every day and doing this arm workout at least 5 times a week! (click on the picture to go the arm work out). And once baby comes and I get the all clear from my doctor, I want to get back in shape ASAP!

7. I have a few TpT products in the works that I'd love to get finished before baby gets here! We will see if those get done!

8.  I started watching Sex and the City from the beginning earlier this year and I'd love to finished it this summer. and possibly watch the movies too! :)

9. there is going to be a wedding in the near future of someone VERY close to me! I don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet, because the engagement hasn't happened, BUT I'm sure we will be spending lots of our summer planning on the fun details of the wedding!

10. And last but not least, just taking in the last few months of being a family of 2 before this little one arrives. I know things are going to change, but I also know they are only going to change for the better!

Five for Friday

It has been awhile since I've linked up for "Five for Friday" and I'm so excited to share what we've been doing this week!
This is my last week of school. The intervention teachers don't go through the end of school. Thank goodness because this baby is getting BIG! Take a look at last week's update picture. Sheesh! Baby Rae is going to be a big baby by the time 40 weeks comes around!
With my math groups we have been working on addition strategies that don't include counting on our fingers for the past 3 weeks and I have to say, we have broken that habit! The following strategies we've used are:

1. bridge to 10
2. using my 10s facts
3. doubles
4. near doubles
5. flip flop facts
6. fact families
7. counting on (only when it's adding on 1, 2, or 3)

We used the game "Addition Bingo" and really practice using our strategies!

Along with playing bingo we worked on our strategies with pencil and paper too.

The kids LOVED these activities. You can find all of these activities in my "Watch Me Add" Unit.
For my reading groups this week I thought it would be fun to do a fun reading/writing activity for our last week together.
The "All About Me Book" is always a hit with my kids! Every year, any grade! They have been working hard on them and can't wait to take them home and show them off to mom and dad.
For my last thing that's been going on this week, I am getting ready for Reagan's first baby shower. I can't wait for it! I'm sure I will be posting too many pictures over on my personal blog, Man and Wife and Two Fur Babies.

I hope everyone has a good few last weeks of school! You are almost there! You can do it!!!

May Currently

It has been awhile since I've linked up with Farley's Currently. Actually, it's been awhile since I've blogged at all! And for that I apologize! But here's a little peak and what's been going on in my life recently!

Listening: just sitting in silence while eating my breakfast and it is GLORIOUS!

Loving: I'm so happy that it's starting to warm up, BUT I feel like Texas just skipped over Spring. The high on Wednesday was in the 60's and the high on Sunday is in the 90's?! what the heck!

Thinking: our little bundle of joy, Reagan Phair, will be here in 11 weeks! Wow! Am I ready for this?
Wanting: I'm trying my hardest to get some units done! My top priority is my Language Arts Assessment packet that's just like my math one. I'm hoping to have it done this weekend!
Needing: The last currently I did was in February, and I needed a hair cut then. Ironically, I still haven't gotten that hair cut, so I just left it! Need a hair cut bad!

Surprise: I want to tell you about this adorable Mother's Day gift idea from Lindsay over at For the Love of First Grade. We did these last year and the kids LOVED it! I'm sure you remember putting carnations in colored water and watching them turn that color over the next couple of days. So we did that experiment and then attached these adorable tags to the flower and the kids took the flower home to mom!

I hope everyone is doing well and you are gearing up for the last few weeks of school! Can't believe it's almost over!
